About our Client

We are representing a mid-sized General Contractor based in Manhattan, known for excellence in high-end Corporate Interior Fit-Outs. The firm maintains a stable base of repeat clients across Office Interiors, Financial Services, Retail, and Hospitality. Having established a strong market presence, they are now seeking a Chief Estimator to be a strategic partner to the Owner, leading the estimating team to execute a significant expansion across the New York market.

Job Description

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Owner and Executive Team, shaping the company’s future.
  • Lead and transform the estimating team and processes to enhance speed and accuracy.
  • Personally lead and manage the estimating process for high-value, complex projects.
  • Act as a senior, client-facing representative for the firm.
  • Provide advanced risk analysis and financial insight to inform key business decisions

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Executive Team to set growth targets and develop pre-construction strategies for profitable growth.
  • Team & Process Management: Take charge of the junior estimating team, implementing rigorous processes and leveraging technology to scale the firm’s operations.
  • Complex Bid Oversight: Ensure comprehensive scope coverage and competitive pricing for all high-value interior bids (commercial, financial, retail, and hospitality).
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, clients, and subcontractors, focusing on collaborative problem-solving and value engineering.

What we're looking for

  • Experience: 15+ years in commercial construction estimating, with a significant and recent focus on high-end Corporate Interior Fit-Outs in Manhattan.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to successfully manage, mentor, and train an estimating team.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated experience in a strategic, leadership role beyond standard estimating functions.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the gravitas to lead discussions with C-suite clients and design principals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in modern estimating software and industry best practices.
